My name is Emily and I'm currently a sophmore in high school. I play Lacrosse and I run track, I sing and im learing to play guitar. I'm pretty much a normal teenager, aside form th fact that I'm applying to study abroad with a program called AfS. I love the idea of being completely submereged in another culture and seeing the world. I also want to go into studying languages and working in foreign relations when I am older. I hope to gain a sense of the world form this experience and also insight into how another part of the world functions. I also hope to be able to brige a small gap between my host country and my home country by education each about the other. And heres where you come in, my parents truly and honestly cannot afford to send finance my trip. Therefore, I'm asking for small contributions if you are able to donate them, anything from a penny is greatly apprectiated. I am also hosting a few fundraising events in order to support my cause, and also finding as many odd jobs as I can; because due to my age I am unable to attain and part time steady job. You cannot imagine how much this would mean to me and the smallest of donates make so much difference thank you so much!

THE BASICS

Hey Everyone!
My name is Emily and I'm applying to study with AFS France for a year abroad. I love the french culture and language and think that the oppertunities that are presented to us now-a-days are just incredible.
But there is one downside. My parents cannot afford to send me on exchange and there is limited financial aid and scholarship money so I need your help! If you could donate to my cause in any way a dollar, a penny, 30 dollars, 5 dollars; it doesn't matter any help is greatly appreciated. Also, through this blog you will be able to follow what your money is actually going to! I will be posting regularly about where I am in my admissions process and then eventually, if I get there, (with your help) about my time in france! Thank You so much for even reading this!
